Stories Amplify Context

Once upon a time, in God's providence, THIS man was trained for 40 years for a job, but had to wait 40 more years before God used his training. He has an amazing story (MOSES). Context? God's timeline does not necessarily match up with ours.

Once upon a time, in God's providence, THIS man was called at 75 years old, and given a promise. He waited 25 years and almost lost hope of seeing it fulfilled (ABRAHAM). Context? The God of the Impossible made everything Possible for him...

Once upon a time, in Good's providence, a 17 year old girl was called to a ministry of daily, joyful encouragement to suffering people. Even though she herself is helpless and does nothing by herself, she brings hope to the hopeless. She has been doing it for over 50 years as a quadraplegic (JONI EARECKSON - TADA). Context? His strength is made perfect in weakness.

Once upon a time, a man prophesied that 'the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that shall never be destroyed, nor shall the kingdom be left to another people. It shall break in pieces all these kingdoms and bring them to an end, and it shall stand forever'.

Daniel prophesied that the process of God's ever-expanding kingdom would be initiated when the Messiah came 500 years later. 500 years after Christ's coming, the Gospel reached Europe (and France) because of Roman conquest. By 1500, the early stirrings of the Reformation occurred because apostasy reigned. Context? God sets up and takes down nations. It was in the mind of God for Canada to be a nation.

The Reformation, and persecution of the French Protestants by France's kings and Catholic establishment, contributed to the establishment of Canada. Context? Canada benefitted from and was birthed because of the French Reformation.

If you don't believe me, read THIS.

I connect the stories of the French kings with the CONTEXT for Canada's birth in the course called The French Connection.

I am regularly asked, 'WHY would someone from the West Indies want to research and write about Canada's history'?

Here's the scoop...

Once upon a time, a woman in her senior years returned from a 3-year stint in Pittsburgh with her husband. Through auditing her husband's MDiv courses in Pittsburgh, (Patristic & Medieval History, Reformation History), pieces of history about the influence of the French Kings in the settling of Canada began to meld in her head.

She became curious about some of the names she had heard of, first in teaching a homeschool co-op many years before, and then in the MDiv classes (eg, Henry IV, Cardinal Richelieu). She wanted to know how they were connected to Christianity in Canada. She intended to find out.

On her return to Canada, she had heard that the Centre Block was to be closed for 10-15 years for renovations. "Oh no", she thought, "I need to take fresh pictures of the Peace Tower Scriptures before they're lost".

In God's providence, during her last visit before its close, she discovered a marble frieze over the left doorway of the House of Commons. It eventually came together and made sense.

This marble frieze told the entire story of Canada's birth and the worst persecution of Christians ever.

From November 2018 to September 2019, she researched, she studied how to create curricula, she wrote a course, video recorded it, and had it edited professionally.

See a sample of the course 'The French Connection' in the video here:

That's the story of the birth of The French Connection.

The Story of Canada

Exploration of new lands (Acadia & New France) happened just around the time of the re-discovery of the truth of the gospel. This re-discovery was called The Reformation.

The Reformation confronted lies, made-up stories and superstitious practices. Confronting lies with truth is not easy.

Once upon a time in France, lies fed SUPERSTITION... and illiteracy... for generations.

Once upon a time, superstition held people in submissive control. The truth of God's Word and the ability to become literate to read it caused persecution by the French power brokers... kings, nobles, Church officials.

Those who rediscovered the Scriptures (Reformers / Huguenots / French Protestants) in France were horribly persecuted under the reign of every French king but one.

Remember that marble frieze over the doorway of the House of Commons?

It shows Francis I (1515) on the left and Louis XIV (1715) on the right.

THAT, my friend, is the EXACT period of the worst persecution of Protestants EVER.

And that is the period under which Canada was born. I tell the stories of the lives of French Protestants and Catholics.

Such were the early days of the French Kings, nobles and churchmen (proxies of the Kings or Viceroys) who ruled over Canada.

See their photos gracing the wall of the Senate Building below and download the checklist which tells you the 10 reasons why those kings are important to Canada. Download the checklist here.
