BRIGHT HORIZONS

Have you ever read Lamentations Chapter 3? You should.

Jeremiah laments about all the physical suffering he has endured from the hand of the Lord. It has caused him to be bitter. But for a moment, he pauses and says confidently,

'But this I call to mind, and THEREFORE I have HOPE.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end.

They are new every morning. Great is Thy faithfulness.

The Lord is my portion, THEREFORE I will hope in Him.

I am walking in Jeremiah's shoes. But I am not bitter. I have HOPE, and it does not disappoint. God has blessed me with beautiful sunsets every day. They take my breath away! They bring me JOY.

And in the midst of my suffering, we have packed up our old house, and unpacked into our new house.

We love hospitality and meeting new people, so in the process of unpacking, we have set up 2 rooms in our home for guests. You can see them here and here.

And because of my ongoing health issues since February this year, I am sensing that the Lord is asking me to pivot and do something different. I do not know what that will look like, so I am 'casting my bread', as it were, to see what comes back to me.

TRUTH & RECONCILLIATION

In the meantime, once a month from October to December 2025, you can arrange for a group of up to 10 people related to each other by blood, homeschooling or church, to overnight in our Airbnb.

For $91/per person you will get

• shared accommodations
• 4 hours of teaching
• 3 meals (dinner, breakfast and a bagged lunch)

Other resources (books & printed material) cost extra.

• Did you know that Brantford was the cradle of British settlement in Ontario?
• Did you know that the original 6-Nations Reserve of Onandaga is in Brantford?
• Did you know that Joseph Brant (Tyendanega) led the British and their loyal supporters to safety in Ontario and Quebec during the War of American Independence?
• Did you know that Brantford was the home of one of the first agricultural machinery manufacturers?
• Did you know that Walter Seymour Allward had connections to John A Pearson, Vimy Ridge and Brantford?

There is so much original history in Brantford. You will come for a day and return again and again, because there is so much to learn about Canada's foundations right here in Brantford.

You will learn the TRUTH about Native history and propose ideas about true RECONCILIATION as mandated in Scripture.

LEGACIES

While I was severely out of commission, many important political issues and holiday celebrations came up which ChristianRoots Canada could have spoken into.

For example,

• in February I missed Flag Day and Family Day
• in March - Commonwealth Day & St. Patrick Day
• in April - Vimy Ridge day and Easter
• in May - Victoria Day
• in June - preparation for Canada Day
• in August - Civic / Provincial holiday
• in September - Labour Day and Truth & Reconciliation Day
• and moving forward, I would like to remind us about Thanksgiving Day in October and Remembrance Day in November

CHARLIE KIRK'S LEGACY

The death of Charlie Kirk has raised another important issue that ChriistianRoots Canada can speak into - leaving a legacy. There are so many things I can say here, but this email is already too long.

Please join me by Zoom on Friday, October 3rd, from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm, for a brainstorming session about workshop topics you would like to explore if you were to bring a small group to our home.

Otherwise, you can email me with your thoughts at info@christianrootscanada.org, as I seek direction in my desire to pivot into God's perfect will for ChristianRoots Canada. Who knows if God intends to use your input to spark the necessary change in direction.
