Canada Votes 2025

National Elections, or the act of voting for a representative of a political party, can generate very controversial and divisive conversations.

If you would listen to / read Social Media posts, you will see and hear positions that encourage you to vote one way or the other, or condemn you for voting for a particular person or party.

Conservative thinkers from every spectrum of religious beliefs have keenly felt the boot of injustice from the incumbent political party for the last 10 years, and want change.

Many organizations that hate the track record of the Liberals, like the National Citizens Coalition, have developed videos that seek to remind Canadians what's at stake, such as this one.​

ARPA, the Association for Reformed Political Action, has been podcasting about various aspects of the election since its announcement. The podcasts have identified crucial social issues about which every Christian should be concerned.

A comparison chart on their page shows each party's policies and principles on these social issues. If you click on this link and scroll down the page, you will see the social issues and an Election Guide. Just click on 'Show Where the Parties Stand' for each issue.

Ultimately, the options you have as a Christian are:

• Support a Christian serving under a less-than-Godly political leader (like Daniel and his Friends were under Nebuchadnezzar, or Esther and Mordecai under Ahazuerus).
• Vote for a Christian who aligns with your beliefs and your conscience, but might not gain enough clout to implement Godly change.
• Vote for a Libertarian, some of whose beliefs align with yours, but still might not gain enough clout to implement positive changes.
• Spoil your ballot and not vote at all.

No matter how your conscience dictates your vote, these truths remain:

• God is good. He raises up and takes down nations (Daniel Chapter 2).
• He calls Christians to be salt and light in every sphere, even in politics.
• You may have to light a candle instead of cursing the darkness, or help someone else to do so.
• No matter how you vote, if you are a believer in Jesus Christ, your salvation is not dependent on a politician. It is in Christ alone. By faith alone.

Calendar Videos Made For Me

A friend and subscriber to our newsletter wants to help me sell the rest of my 2025 Interactive Calendars.

Ottawa Tours

This year, I am unable to lead Ottawa Tours.

For the last few months, I was literally on my back with undiagnosed pain. With God's help, I was able to visualize how I would lead a Walking Tour of Ottawa while bedridden.

I wrote a step-by-step instruction book that helps you to walk in the footsteps of Protestants who helped to lay the foundations of Ottawa. These men have left legacies that have endured from 1827 to today.

Two of the men you will learn about are: Lumber Barons, John Booth, whose lumber built the Parliament Buildings and the British Navy, and Erskine Bronson, who partnered with Thomas Ahern to build the first Hydroelectric power station, which still works today and has morphed into the Ottawa Hydro.

You will visit the Chaudiere Falls and read about the lumber industry and how logs were floated down the Ottawa River in the Spring run-off. You will have a practical example of how men took perilous risks, riding the rapids of the Falls to get their lumber to the mills (there was no workmen's compensation at that time).

Canada's Sovereignty

While I was in bed, I distracted myself by following all the bravado and bluster of the Trump team south of us. It was interesting to see and hear how King Charles has diplomatically inserted himself between Trump and Canada. The King spoke to the Italian parliament in early April.

​At approximately the 1:00 mark until about 2:04, he lets Trump know who is Canada's top dog. I guess he is saying, 'To get to Canada, you have to get through me'.

It is also interesting to hear Karoline Leavitt parrot off inane, ignorant, and uninformed statements. After all, WHAT do they really know about Canada? It will be interesting to see what Britain's role would be if the crazies down south think about acting on their wishful thinking.

After our elections, we will either be celebrating, commiserating, or non-plussed. There will always be history unfolding. Be sure to point to important people and events to your children. Write them down to teach the next generation.
