Every Canadian reading the link above should have a massive outcry of, 'Shame on them'. The gist of the story is this... a Nova Scotia judge has banned the wearing of poppies in his courtroom because he is concerned that it might hypothetically offend the sensibilities of a non-veteran, in a hypothetical case he might have before the court against a veteran. And the rest of the learned judges have come to his defence, endorsing his actions. Please read about the shock and horror of our 17- to 25-year-old Canadian youth who gave their lives to free us from Nazi Germany. John McCrae was part of the Canadian battalion that experienced the first-gen chemical weapons (chlorine gas) in warfare. He witnessed his friend and former student being shot dead the following day after exposure to chlorine gas. He had no choice but to bury his friend in an unmarked grave in Ypres, France, performing the committal service for him. And it was out of his deep grief, observing the fields of poppies gleefully waving in the breeze, unaffected by the war, that he penned the words of his famous poem - In Flanders Fields. You can read his story here. This poppy has become an international symbol of the sacrifice of young lives given for the freedom we enjoy. Kings and commoner alike wear it worldwide. Just ask the Dutch, who witnessed over 10,000 Canadian soldiers gunned down by the Germans because they dared to attempt the freeing of the Netherlands from the Germans. The son of a veteran said recently that if Hitler had won, we would all be speaking German today. Those judges in Nova Scotia should be made to learn Canadian history, and to listen to the stories of the few veterans from WWI who are still alive. Please wear your poppies with pride. ------------------------------------------ Your download was delayed because God had another test of perseverance and endurance for me over the last weekend. Some blood vessels in my right eye burst to prove another medicine is working. Needless to say, there were vision issues. Go figure! Access your free copy of, 'The Biblical Legacy of Canada's Parliament Buildings'. This was the first book we (Tim & I) wrote in 2011 when we first discovered the Scriptures in the Peace Tower. Please share the download with your friends. We want to spread the word far and wide. May the light of the Scriptures in the Peace Tower shine all across Canada - with your help. ----------------------------------------------------------------- If someone were to ask you, 'What is Heritage?', how would you answer? Is there a 'Christian' heritage in Canada? The fight is on to declare December as Christian Heritage Month. Our Ministry of Culture, History & Sports has listed every heritage to be celebrated in Canada for the year, EXCEPT our Christian Heritage that laid down the foundations of our social structure. Christians were the bedrock of Canada's foundations. Unfortunately, Christian heritage is not recognized because even Christians do not know their Christian heritage. We hope to fill that gap by sharing the research and writing that we do. There is no mention of Christians in the lineup of 'heritage' celebrations from the Ministry of Culture, History & Sports. This year, I will create a narrow 'Heritage' calendar, like a Birthday Calendar. Each month will display a different picture of the 25 Scriptures. You will have a ready-made prayer calendar so you can pray appropriately for that event on those days. What do you think?
