What a year 2025 has been for me, and for ChristianRoota Canada! The year began with health issues that dogged me all year long, culminating in a TIA in September. Life had come to a screeching halt. Of course in my roller-coaster experience with pain, there were brief peaks of relief before dipping into the valley of despair. Many Scripture verses I memorized in my youth became my constant companions. They whispered words of patience, endurance and HOPE. And I learned that HOPE does not disappoint (Romans 5:5). And I kept asking God, 'What do you want of me? What should I be doing? You made me lie down so that I have no choice but to look up. I know you want me to pivot, but to what?" I sensed that the old way of functioning needed to give way to a new thing, but I didn't know what that was. Well, He gave me unexpected work to do in November to mark Remembrance Day... to speak to the youth group at my church about Christians who sacrificed their lives for us. And then came other opportunities to repeat that talk and develop other talks. My husband and I have been reading through the Bible. We started in the New Testament during my time of suffering. Recently, we started from Genesis again. Looking back, it seemed like the words, "Be fruitful and multiply" held a new meaning for me, from a spiritual perspective. It seemed like God wanted me to influence influencers, who can then be multiplying agents that tell others about His work in Canada, through the Christians who were instruments in His hands. He has given me a big dream to grow into. I pray that in 2026, the Lord helps you to recognize the dream that is a size too big for you. Keep hope alive as you are stretched to grow into it. Hope does not disappoint. The Lord will go before you and be your rear guard.” — Isaiah 52:12. By the way, guess my word for the year 2026? Yup! HOPE.
